To obtain the residence permit, foreign students have to make a bank deposit of at least €6,000 for each year of studying to cover living costs in Finland. ۬Obtaining a part-time job without Finnish language knowledge can be difficult.

Earnings from part-time work during term-time may be included in the amount of disposable funds required for a residence permit at the discretion of the authorities.
