The University of Cassino and Southern Lazio is a public institution founded in 1979. The University has around 10,500 students and 320 professors and researchers. Almost all courses are located at the University Campus Folcara. 92% of people with a degree awarded at Cassino say that they are satisfied with their experience at the University of Cassino. Research at the University of Cassino is done in cooperation with partners in Europe and the rest of the world. Furthermore, as a member of the interuniversity center H2CU, Unicas offers a double degree program in Civil Engineering in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Technology of New York. Unicas coordinates an international Ph.D. program called “Environmental Technologies for Contaminated Solids, Soils and Sediments (ETeCoS3)” within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus program. Nineteen partner institutions from ten different Countries participate in this program. In 1990 the university established its International Relations Office which has given the university a very strong international presence with 80 institution partners worldwide and still growing. The town of Cassino is a university town. Therefore, it might be difficult to find an accommodation once the academic year has started. Since 1999, the University has signed specific agreements that give its students the opportunity to complete an internship after graduation.
