Tio University of Applied Sciences

Tio stands for intensive, small-scale and high quality education and has enjoyed an excellent reputation for over 45 years. Tio is also one of the most prestigious universities of applied sciences in The Netherlands. Satisfied students and quality of education are the key. Tio has now been pronounced Best University of Applied Sciences (small size) by the Higher Education Guide 2016 (Keuzegids Hbo). Tio has achieved this by receiving excellent scores for all the bachelor courses. As a private educational institution, Tio University of Applied Sciences can invest more in the quality of education than government funded educational institutions. Tio’s locations are small, as are the classes. When weighted in the 2013-2014 academic year, the average number of students across the whole of Tio, was 11 to a classroom. This allows the lecturers to give you a lot of personal attention and makes it possible to actively participate in the lectures, for example by taking part in role-playing games and discussions. Projects are an important part of the bachelor courses. You will attend guest lectures, visit events, run a hotel with fellow students, organise a trip or manage an investment portfolio. Tio’s personal approach facilitates rapid learning. Education is intensive, with many hours of coaching. This enables you to achieve a bachelor’s degree at Tio in just three years. (Source: the university’s website)
