Technical University in Zvolen
The Technical University in Zvolen (TUZVO) has a unique position in university educational system of Slovakia, because we are the only university providing univestity education in the field of forestry, wood sciences, ecology and environmental and manufacturing technology. The aim of educational process at TUZVO is to provide graduates with a broad knowledge of forestry, wood science and technology, ecology and environment, manufacturing and environmental technology, emphasizing also specific methods and knowledges. Due to the multifunctional structure of curricula our graduates are able to find employment in the whole range of the above mentioned areas as well as in other specialisation-related areas. Currently, the system of university education is undergoing considerable changes. It is being transformed in keeping with new legal regulations restructuring the university education by introducing a three-stage system of university education and the European Credit Transfer System. Consequently, since the academic year 2005/2006, the TU has been running the courses for the 2nd-5th year students to gradually finish all the previous graduate and post-graduate study programmes as well as the new accredited study programs for the 1st year students.
