Oulu University of Applied Sciences
Oulu UAS is dedicated to educating genuine and competent professionals for the needs of working life. We have approximately 9,000 students and 800 staff. We operate in Oulu, Oulainen and Raahe. In addition, we have project-type activities in several municipalities around Northern Finland. We implement northern region development objectives in the following focus areas: Future health and well-being, Energy, natural resources and the environment. Expertise calls for skills that address the changing needs of professional life and stem from the combination of theory and practice. Productivity calls for quality, efficiency and prioritizing of operations in order to achieve jointly agreed targets. A sense of community means bold, genuine, multi-professional co-operation between all parties in the higher education community. Oulu UAS’s students have excellent opportunities for completing their studies in student and trainee exchanges abroad. Annually some 250 students go abroad for 3 – 10 months and we receive a similar amount of students from our 180 international partner universities around the world.
