The functions of Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences and Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences merged on 1 January 2014 to form Lapland University of Applied Sciences. The University of Applied Sciences has four fields of expertise – Wellness services, with administrative headquarters in Rovaniemi – Business and culture, with administrative headquarters in Tornio – Travel and tourism, with administrative headquarters in Rovaniemi – Industry and natural resources, with administrative headquarters in Kemi. Each field of expertise includes several educational and research areas with which we carry out our mission to provide vocational oriented university education and to conduct research, development and innovation work that especially serves Lapland. Lapland University of Applied Sciences Ltd has been established as the maintenance organisation of the University. We refine expertise and vitality from the strengths and opportunities of a changing operating environment to meet the needs of northern people and organisations. With our areas of emphasis, we are pioneers in arctic expertise and an internationally recognised educator, developer and partner. Our core values are – Trust – Open-mindedness – Sense of Community.
