The establishment of the School of Pedagogical & Technological Education (ASPETE) in 2002. ASPETE provides concurrent technological and pedagogical education and training at tertiary level. Its mission includes the promotion of applied research in educational technology and pedagogy, as well as the provision of training, further training or specialization for in-service or prospective secondary teachers. Nurtured with great expectations in relation to the teaching profession, ASPETE aims at ensuring and promoting excellence in all of the programmes offered by its academic departments. These include undergraduate study-programmes in five major disciplines, joint postgraduate programmes (MA) in cooperation with Higher Education Institutions in Greece or abroad, and programmes of pedagogical training, further training or specialization.
