Funen Art Academy

The study at Funen Art Academy is nationally recognised by the Danish state, so that Danish students and EU students moving to Denmark are eligible for SU (a study grant from the Danish State Education Grant and Loan Scheme). Funen Art Academy is an independent institution situated in the Brandts complex in the middle of Odense, Denmark. The Academy is funded by the Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs, The Municipality of Odense, and private foundations and sponsors. The focal point of Funen Art Academy is its international focus, workshop-based teaching and collaboration between students and teachers crossing artistic media and study years. Funen Art Academy strives to provide students with the best foundation possible for the development of a professional and critical artistic practice in a globalised world – tuition at Funen Art Academy is therefore carried out in English, and a large part of the study program is taught by foreign artists and art theoriticians. We especially focus on conceptual artistic practices and on art practices, which deal with political and social issues. We collaborate with institutions of art and culture in Denmark and abroad, and prioritise student exchange highly. (Source: the university’s website)
