ESMT European School of Management and Technology
ESMT European School of Management and Technology was founded in October 2002 by 25 leading global companies and institutions. The international business school offers a Full-time MBA and an Executive MBA program, as well as executive education. ESMT focuses on three main areas of competence: Leadership and social responsibility. Within the area of competence of European Competitiveness, both the classical problems of market failure – through market power, external effects such as pollution, asymmetric information distribution or hold-up problems – and regulatory and policy failures are examined. In addition, ESMT examines the importance of recent behavioral theoretical approaches for the understanding of markets and their regulation. These theoretical approaches are partially already discussed in business administration and psychology. For example, under what circumstances can competing companies exploit decision errors of consumers to their advantage and how can this be prevented through reasonable consumer protection? One important methodological approach is Behavioral Economics and Decision Making, which plays a significant role in the research work at ESMT. ESMT’s Admissions Team will provide you with information about how to find housing in Germany. ESMT students do not have access to student housing in Berlin, but you will find a wide variety of accommodation for your needs. All students are able to find an apartment in Berlin before, or during the first weeks, of the program. ESMT’s Admission Team also provides support for all students when registering their address with authorities.

The German authorities require a minimum amount, which students must have at your disposal each month. At the moment this lies at €648 per month, which comes to a total of €7776 a year.
You do not need a visa in Germany if you are an EU national or citizen of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.
How much am I allowed to work?
European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) nationals have the same status on the job market as Germans. You are allowed to work as much as you wish without a permit. However, you should remember that you should not work for more than 20 hours a week during the semester (the same applies to German students). Otherwise you will be required to pay pension insurance contributions. Furthermore, you wouldn’t have enough time for your studies.
