Dania Academy of Higher Education is one of nine regional academies of higher education in Denmark and has campuses in eight different Danish cities – Viborg, Randers, Grenaa, Hadsten, Hobro, Horsens, Skive and Silkeborg. Academy develops and offers practice-oriented higher-education programmes at undergraduate level (AP and BA degrees). Our programmes combine theory with practice and we highly value tuition in small teams and group and project work. We have strong ties to and work closely together with the industry introducing real-life cases and internships for our students. are a University of Applied Sciences and the programmes we offer focus on applied degrees within technology, IT, business and health. Five of our 21 programmes are taught in English. nearly 2500 full-time students, of which 320 are international, and a high number of part-time students, we play an important role within education in Denmark. Academy of Higher Education officially opened on 1 January 2009 and has around 155 full-time employees. It is the mission of Dania to develop and offer Academy Profession Degree Programmes, both as full-time and as part-time educations, of the highest quality regionally, nationally and internationally in close cooperation with the business world. It is difficult to find student jobs, but it is allowed for EU nationals and non EU nationals (up to 15 hours per week). Together with the municipality of Viborg and the local Chamber of Business and Industry, the Academy developed a concept for helping international students to find spare time jobs. Within the first 4 months 50 % of the students of the first international class had a spare time job, and the experiences so far (as at 1 January 2010) are very promising. In order to apply for a residence permit for Denmark, students must document that they have paid the required tuition fee. If you have been granted a tuition waiver you must instead document that you dispose of DKK 4200 (approx. €563) per month (in all DKK 50000 = approx. €6703) by including e.g. a bank statement in your own name or documentation for a grant or scholarship.
