Coburg University of Applied Sciences
Hochschule Coburg has its roots in the Craftsmen’s School founded in Coburg in 1812 by Friedrich Streib, the architect of none other than the then Duke of Saxony. That school was designed to prepare craftsmen working in the construction business to become masters of their trade entitling them to train apprentices. The universiy’s educational philosophy is to offer a practice-related education which enables its graduates to independently use scientific methods and engage in artistic activities during their professional careers. The mission of Coburg university of Applied Sciences is to provide academically-based and practice-orientated training. Its educational philosophy is designed to enable its students to apply their theoretical knowledge and methodological know-how to solving concrete problems in their professional careers. During their studies the students at Coburg University are systematically trained to develop those skills. To make sure that the practical relevance is never lost sight of, both full-time faculty and part-time staff are required to have gained ample experience in leading positions of business and administration.. The German authorities require a minimum amount, which students must have at your disposal each month. At the moment this lies at €648 per month, which comes to a total of €7776 a year.
You do not need a visa in Germany if you are an EU national or citizen of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.
How much am I allowed to work?
European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) nationals have the same status on the job market as Germans. You are allowed to work as much as you wish without a permit. However, you should remember that you should not work for more than 20 hours a week during the semester (the same applies to German students). Otherwise you will be required to pay pension insurance contributions. Furthermore, you wouldn’t have enough time for your studies.
